Wynn Al Marjan Island Sets September 2027 Opening Date
Wynn Resorts has set September 2027 for the UAE's first casino resort. What opens, what it means for Al Marjan Island, and what is already being built.
Wynn Resorts has confirmed that Wynn Al Marjan Island will officially open in September 2027, establishing a revised timeline for the landmark integrated resort under construction in Ras Al Khaimah.
The opening date was announced as part of Wynn Resorts’ second-quarter 2026 financial results. The resort had previously been expected to welcome guests in early 2027, but regional disruption and supply-chain pressures affected the construction programme.
Despite these challenges, work at the site is progressing rapidly. The development has entered a significant interior fit-out phase, with mechanical, electrical and finishing works advancing across the hotel rooms.
Project budget increases by $600 million
Wynn Resorts has also revised the development’s construction budget upward by approximately $600 million. The increase reflects the impact of regional disruption, logistics constraints, supply-chain pressures and other project-related costs.
The revised construction budget is now reported to be approximately $5.7 billion.
During the second quarter of 2026, Wynn Resorts contributed a further $48.1 million to the joint venture responsible for the development. This brought the company’s total cash contributions to approximately $1.06 billion. Wynn holds a 40% interest in the project. Wynn Resorts Q2 2026 results
Alongside construction, preparations for the resort’s opening are gathering momentum. Recruitment, operational planning and other pre-opening activities are moving forward ahead of the September 2027 launch.
A landmark development for Ras Al Khaimah
Located on Al Marjan Island, the resort is expected to become one of Ras Al Khaimah’s most prominent hospitality and tourism destinations.
The development will combine luxury accommodation, restaurants, entertainment venues, retail experiences, event facilities and gaming within a single beachfront destination. Its scale and international profile are expected to strengthen Ras Al Khaimah’s position within the global luxury-tourism market.
The project is also anticipated to create new employment opportunities, attract international visitors and encourage further investment across the emirate’s hospitality, residential and supporting infrastructure sectors.
Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings reiterated the company’s long-term confidence in both the development and the UAE market. Following a recent visit to the country, he described the quality of the work being delivered at the site as exceptional and positioned the resort as one of the world’s most significant upcoming integrated-resort openings.
The UAE’s first licensed land-based gaming resort
Wynn Resorts received the UAE’s first commercial gaming-facility operator licence from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority in October 2024. It remains the country’s only announced operator holding a licence for a land-based gaming facility.
This gives Wynn Al Marjan Island a distinctive position within the region’s evolving tourism and entertainment landscape.
With a confirmed opening date now in place and interior construction advancing, attention will increasingly turn toward the resort’s final development stages and the broader transformation taking place across Al Marjan Island.
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently scheduled to open in September 2027.
