Banan Beach Resort Ras Al Khaimah: A Glamping Guide

If you've scrolled through UAE travel feeds, chances are you've come across the pastel A-frame tents, swings and white-washed walls of Banan Beach Resort. Set on the Al Marjan coastline in Ras Al Khaimah, this boutique beachfront stay mixes glamping with a laid-back, Santorini-inspired aesthetic — think colourful wooden tents, sea-facing terraces, hammocks, barbecues and bonfire evenings.

It is a very different experience from the large beachfront hotels nearby. Banan Beach is better suited to travellers looking for a relaxed, design-led stay with plenty of outdoor space, whether you're planning a couples' escape, family staycation or weekend with friends.

Where Is Banan Beach & How Do You Get There?

Banan Beach sits along the Al Marjan coast in Ras Al Khaimah, close to Al Marjan Island and the resort district around Al Hamra.

By car, allow approximately:

  • 5 minutes to Al Marjan Island

  • 15 minutes to Al Hamra Mall

  • 30 minutes to Ras Al Khaimah International Airport

  • Around 1–1.5 hours from Dubai, depending on where you start and traffic conditions.

Its coastal location also makes Banan Beach easy to work into a wider Al Marjan Island itinerary.

Accommodation Types & Which One Should You Book?

Rather than offering hundreds of conventional hotel rooms, Banan Beach has a mix of garden rooms, beach rooms, duplex accommodation, private-pool options and simple glamping tents.

Bal'aa Garden Room

One of the simpler room options, with a queen bed, private bathroom, seating area, air conditioning and fridge. Unlike the beach-room categories, it is positioned around the garden rather than being marketed specifically for its sea-view balcony.

Yafa Beach Room

A good option for couples, with a queen bed, private bathroom and a balcony with a sea view.

Ghazzah Beach Room

Another sea-facing option for two, with a king bed, bathroom, dressing area, seating space and sea-view balcony.

Baisan Loft Duplex

Better for a small group or family, the two-level Baisan sleeps up to four adults and includes a queen bed, double bed, living area, two bathrooms, Jacuzzi and its own BBQ area.

Villa Rosa Room

Villa Rosa is one of the more private options for couples. It comes with a king bed, terrace, sea-view balcony, private pool, swing, bar area and sound system.

Nablus Chalet

The standout choice for families and groups, Nablus accommodates up to six adults with three queen beds and three bathrooms. It also includes a private pool, swings, BBQ area, bar and fridge.

Gaza Small Tents

For a more traditional glamping experience, Banan Beach also has 10 Gaza small tents. Each sleeps two people and has a double bed and seating area, but importantly, these tents do not have a private bathroom or air conditioning. Group bookings of all 10 tents are also available.

Which one should you choose? Yafa and Ghazzah make the most sense for couples who want a sea-facing room. Villa Rosa adds a private pool, while Baisan works well if you need room for four. For families or groups wanting the most space and their own pool, Nablus is the strongest option.

Room availability, inclusions and prices change by date, so check the official Banan Beach website before booking.

Pools, Beach & Resort Amenities

Banan Beach has an adult pool and a separate family pool, alongside its beach. Children under 12 are restricted to the family pool and must be accompanied by an adult, while children are not permitted in the adult pool. Current resort rules state that both pools close at 7:00 PM.

Around the resort, the atmosphere is more outdoor beach camp than conventional hotel. Expect hammocks, swings, BBQ areas, waterside spaces and bonfire-style evenings.

The resort also promotes beach activities including snorkelling, kayaking and other water sports.

What Is the Food Like?

Dining is casual and built around beach-friendly food rather than formal fine dining. The current menus cover wood-fired pizza, seafood, mixed grills, salads, burgers, pasta and Middle Eastern dishes, with options such as fattoush, kibbeh, arayes, mixed grills and sayadiyyah alongside seafood dishes.

There are dedicated seafood selections as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, cocktails, coffee and shisha. Breakfast is included with the accommodation categories currently offered by the resort.

Activities, Parties & Evenings

Banan Beach is as much about the atmosphere as the accommodation. Beyond swimming, kayaking and time on the sand, the resort is known for bonfires, outdoor movie screenings and social events around the pool and beach. Ras Al Khaimah Tourism also highlights Saturday beach parties and Sunday ladies' days as part of the resort's regular programming.

Schedules can change, however, and the resort's current events page does not publish a fixed upcoming calendar. Check Banan Beach's website or social channels before planning a trip specifically around an event.

Can You Visit Banan Beach Without Staying Overnight?

Yes, Banan Beach accommodates beach and pool reservations as well as walk-in visitors, although access can depend on the date, event schedule and capacity. The resort currently asks guests to contact its beach reservations team directly rather than publishing a permanent day-pass tariff online.

If you're planning a day visit, confirm the current entrance price and what's included before travelling, particularly on weekends and event days.

Is Banan Beach Pet-Friendly?

Yes. Banan Beach is one of Ras Al Khaimah's more pet-friendly beach stays, but there are clear rules.

Pets must be trained and appropriately restrained, and they should remain on a leash around the property unless inside the guest's room. Pet-friendly areas currently include guest rooms, the main lobby and beach areas.

Pets are not permitted inside the adult or family pools, Jacuzzi gardens, or BBQ areas where food and drinks are served or consumed.

If you're travelling with a pet, confirm any applicable deposit, documentation requirements or accommodation restrictions when booking.

Is Banan Beach Worth It?

Banan Beach makes the most sense if you're choosing your stay for character, beach access and atmosphere rather than the scale and facilities of a large five-star resort. The colourful rooms, glamping tents, private-pool options, BBQ spaces and social beach setting give it an identity of its own.

Couples will get the most from the sea-facing rooms or Villa Rosa, while families and groups should look first at Baisan or the Nablus Chalet. And if you're only curious about the beach, a day visit gives you a way to experience the setting without staying overnight.
